Spotify Halloween Playlist
I finally made the plunge and became a premium Spotify member this past week. I’ve been listening to Spotify since the day it hit the States, but I’ve been too cheap to fork over any money and been doomed to their advertisements and lack of mobile streaming. There are a lot of great services they offer over Grooveshark, iTunes, or Pandora. My favorite feature is the ability to share music easily. In the spirit of Halloween, I’ve shared my Halloween playlist with you. It has some of the typical horror [...]

Be A “Glass-Half-Full” Person!
In other words…be positive! I was recently at a local chamber meeting where the director asked small groups of attendees (in about 60 seconds) to come up with a phrase that they would teach a parrot to say to them every morning as they greeted the owner. The majority of the groups came up with very positive responses, like, “have a great day” or “make it a great day” or “you look great today”. My point is, always look at the bright side! We all live in a fast paced, [...]

Incorporating Twilio API into Client Project
I’m really excited about one of our new clients and the technology that we’re going to be able to create for them. The project is going to give me a good excuse to incorporate Twilio’s API! There are some competitor’s out there but I’ll outline the reasons why I’m excited to use Twilio and where to go for more information if you want to try out Twilio. It’s pretty. The reason I’m excited most about Twilio is that their website makes a complicated matter, telephony API calls, seem easy. And [...]

I had absolutely no idea what to expect at Startup Weekend Columbus. Coming from the ambiguous “non-technical” background I wasn’t sure how my skill set would fit on a team, or if I would learn anything from the experience. Despite my trepidations the following is a recap of what I did learn on Day 1. The overarching theme of the weekend was as follows: “what problem are you solving.” The first speaker of the weekend, Wil Schroter was the first of many speakers that focused on this point: your business needs [...]
