Spotify Halloween Playlist

Spotify Halloween

I finally made the plunge and became a premium Spotify member this past week. I’ve been listening to Spotify since the day it hit the States, but I’ve been too cheap to fork over any money and been doomed to their advertisements and lack of mobile streaming. There are a lot of great services they offer over Grooveshark, iTunes, or Pandora. My favorite feature is the ability to share music easily. In the spirit of Halloween, I’ve shared my Halloween playlist with you. It has some of the typical horror [...]

Incorporating Twilio API into Client Project

twilio logo

I’m really excited about one of our new clients and the technology that we’re going to be able to create for them.  The project is going to give me a good excuse to incorporate Twilio’s API!  There are some competitor’s out there but I’ll outline the reasons why I’m excited to use Twilio and where to go for more information if you want to try out Twilio. I’ve been hearing nothing but good things about the Ruby language and more importantly Ruby on Rails (RoR). I have been contemplating making the switch on my personal projects and if you’re wondering how [...]

New Furniture

It’s official. Buckeye Interactive is now a company. It wasn’t the legal work or employees that made it official but the new desks! We bought our own furniture last week and quickly got it assembled and set up shop in our new office space. We’re still in the same building but just down the hall. With the company doubling since I joined, we quickly outgrew our old office and it’s furnishings. While it was fun to scrounge together all our previous furniture from wherever we could find it, it was just as much fun [...]

Stockers Improve Company Culture!

Some of the best start-up companies have a great culture at its core.  We’ve all heard the stories about how Zappos, Southwest Airlines and Google built their company cultures. I think it’s time Buckeye Interactive through our hat into the ring!Free lunch for everybody! Well, not exactly. However, we can do one thing all the aforementioned companies did well – make the workplace fun. As a way to interrupt the hard-core coding sessions, I took it upon myself to have a little fun ‘Stocking’.Stocking is a new fad on the [...]

StartUp Weekend 2011 Recap

Buckeye Interactive sent two of its developers, Rian Rainey and Brad Griffith, to Columbus’ StartUp Weekend. StartUp Weekend is a 54-hour event that provides networking and resources for individuals and teams to go from idea to launch in one weekend.  StartUp Weekends are hosted all over the world and Columbus hosted theirs on the campus of The Ohio State University. The event commenced Friday night with over fifty 60-second pitches.  Many ideas were generated and the ideas that created the most interest became the projects that stuck for the weekend.  [...]
