PHP Web Application Developer

Whether you’re fresh out of college or a seasoned pro, Buckeye Interactive is an environment where you will be learning new techniques and technologies, its part of our DNA so it needs to be part of yours too! We are looking for developers with varying degrees of knowledge of various web technologies who are not afraid to learn more. Our developers can troubleshoot with the best of ‘em, so your critical thinking/problem solving skills are very important to us too.

Technologies/Skills

  • PHP (WordPress, Drupal, and/or MVC Frameworks [CodeIgniter, CakePHP, Symphony, etc])

Account Manager

Buckeye Interactive is seeking an organized and responsible team member to maintain frequent communication with clients and to keep projects on-schedule.  We provide a very high level of service to our clients, and we need help to maintain our responsiveness while delivering outstanding work.

Our account manager’s responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for all client accounts (10-12 projects at a time)
  • Discussing and refining requirements with clients
  • Planning and execution of training workshops

Web Strategist

Buckeye Interactive differentiates ourselves from other agencies by taking a strategic approach to web application development. We are experts both in crafting strategies to meet our clients’ business needs and in building beautiful technological solutions to accomplish their goals.

We need a web strategist who lives, sleeps and breathes the web including sites, apps, design, development, content, social media and inbound marketing. If your friends and family don’t look to you for everything web (and probably computer) related, you may not be the right fit for this position.

Our web strategist must meet at least these requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of what’s possible on the web (including mobile, social media, email marketing, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of the capability differences between websites, web apps, mobile sites and mobile apps
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with clients and the team
  • Business savvy – strategy, marketing and finance
  • Startup and/or consulting experience – GOOD internships and school projects may count
  • Basic design, coding and database knowledge – no experience is needed, but you should know how the pieces fit together
  • Basic knowledge about the differences between server-side platforms – PHP, .NET, Java, Ruby

And the following definitely couldn’t hurt, though you can learn these on the job:

  • Web app architecture knowledge – sitemaps, wireframing, database design
  • Design or development experience
  • Ability to accurately scope projects (time and cost) within a 25% range
  • Competitive Analysis or Industry Analysis experience

Web Designer

Strategy, Design, and Development are the key components of any great website. We need a talented, experienced designer with an eye for beautiful sites to complement our strategy and development expertise. We like to work with designers who don’t stop with a Photoshop mock-up, but who instead go the extra mile to implement their practical web designs in HTML and CSS. If you’re geeky enough to get into some Javascript and PHP, all the better!

Prior experience is a must, preferably with multiple public-facing websites. Be prepared to share and discuss past design projects.
